About Cappiello Foods, Inc.
Cappiello Foods, Inc. has been in the business of fine Italian specialty cheeses and products since the year 1921. Our history as a company first began with Lucia and Francesco Cappiello coming over to the United States from Sorrento, Italy, back in the early 1920's. The couple ultimately arrived and settled in Schenectady, New York in the year 1921, and it was during that time when they first arrived that Lucia and Francesco began to manufacturer different types of Italian cheeses which included fresh ricotta and mozzarella, using the skills and knowledge that they had brought over with them from Italy.
They began to sell their Italian cheeses door-to-door around the greater part of the Capital Region, and were soon enough able to sell their cheeses and other Italian speciality products directly from the original storefront location at 510 Broadway in Schenectady. Since then the name and traditions of what Lucia and Francesco began almost 90 years ago have evolved into the retail store and company Cappiello Foods, Inc. and the company F. Cappiello Dairy Products, Inc., as well as becoming an international family tradition of fine Italian cheese and specialty products throught the generations.

Today, Cappiello Foods, Inc. is managed and operated by the second, third, and fourth generation of family members, along with a small staff of dedicated employees. Together they continue the memories and traditions of what Lucia and Francesco Cappiello first began back in 1921 by offering to our customers a large selection of fine Italian cheeses and other specialty products both at our retail location on Broadway as well as recently through our website.
